Tomorrow is going to be interesting though and not just because of the unique grid we've got going but also because of the weather being about as predictable as Captain Pike in a Pottery Barn or Matt Mercer in a Hot Topic Vest Shop annnnnnnnd the track surface being.about as slippery as a basketball court coated in flubber, crossing my fingers that all the rubber stays down, and it's not a total wash. Speaking of history repeating itself all over again, I am so overjoyed to have Hinchcliffe back with the F1TV crew because you can just tell that he just AMPS UP the giddiness of everyone and when they're all laughing their butts off while still trying to be 's just the best kind of entertainment because it's so fun and informative at the same time! I like the other teams having a bit of a shot at moving up or at least improving upon last year's performance instead of having to watch history repeat itself all over again. This is what I've wanted to see for some time with the winner of the grand prix not always being decided from the get go. I am enjoying watching the lower half of the grid pick up the pace though and close the gap between themselves and the top teams. It's thrilling to watch when it winds up working out properly but utterly depressing to see them taking so many damned hits over and over again. I love Charles I really do and Carlos can pull out some banger performances at times buuuuut.gosh just the way that car has to be shoved to the red line every time is so damned risky and so much of a dice roll. I'm getting the vibe that it's going to be another clincher of a championship by the time we get to the end, probably between Aston Martin and Red Bull if Ferrari keep doing Ferrari things. Of course then we've got the upgrades that everyone's going to be dropping in about midway through the season and that's going to close the gap even more between everyone else and Red Bull. The grind is going to be real and I feel like the championship will be decided by the rate of attrition of parts and penalties at this rate. Honestly it's just been really really fun watching all of this and I know it's unrelated but Paramount FINALLY put up Star Trek Strange New Worlds ads in the paddock.Īll that said, I feel like the latter part of this season is going to see an absurd number of parts penalties if teams are already running into some of their limits by this point in the season. The heat isn't just messing with the track buuuut it's also making everyone a bit giggly and honestly that's been cheering me up quite a bit watching the F1TV mess around and laugh with each other or seeing Fred pull jokes that my grandpa would've yanked on all of us all weekend long. In between work and being sick, I've been catching up with every Free Practice and Qualification run after the fact for Miami and I had a fucking blast watching it all! □️□ Support Stonewall to help improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people.□□ Want to support Ukraine?
